Before I moved to Florida, I had no idea there was a considerable bald eagle population in this state. Imagine my surprise when the first one I spotted was perched atop a utility pole on a main road! It was one of my first wildlife spottings as a resident, and I have seen them several times since. They often like to make their giant nests in the upper branches of strong and secluded trees. There are a few parks around the state where I have been able to spot them, each time is no less special than the last. 

I'm also an Eagle Scout, and so I couldn't help but have a little fun with the sunlight rays streaming down around this noble bird.
