Out of all the big cats, leopards are my favorite to paint and draw. They're both beautiful and challenging to capture with pencil or a brush. They love to loaf about in trees when they're not hunting prey, and despite their strength and raw power, they're actually quite a vulnerable species. I would argue they have the most beautiful eyes of all the big cats as well. A defining characteristic, their spots, are unique to each leopard. While this poses a painting challenge, I also see it as an opportunity for creativity. I'll always be drawn to capture their essence no matter what particular tools I'm using.
